Education and knowledge expansion are at the forefront of all Ohio Coal Research activities. Our center is committed to helping produce trained engineers and research results that lead to increased responsible use of Ohio coal.

Undergraduate students and full time co-op students get hands-on experience with research and project support in our facilities, while graduate students in chemical, civil, and mechanical engineering, as well as in economics and environmental and plant biology, further our knowledge base and innovation in our primary research areas. More than thirty of the center’s students have received graduate degrees in the last decade.
