"One Page for One World" essay contest for undergraduates

Oct 14, 2019
One Page for One World (OPOW) is an opportunity for undergraduate students to innovate by proposing an engineering-minded product that could potentially be donated to developing communities outside of the United States.

Examples of innovations include composting toilets, universal nut sheller, water filtration straw ("LifeStraw") or a DIY hydroplant.

Applicants will be evaluated by a board of Ohio University students and faculty based on ingenuity, usefulness, clarity, and feasibility.

Supported by the President’s Circle Fund and the OHIO University Foundation, first and second place submissions will receive a cash prize of $300 and $150 respectively. If your idea is good enough, it may be brought to life with additional funding!

Essays should be typed on one single-spaced page with 1" margins and a 12 pt. font. Images, figures, tables and citations are permitted. Appendices, headers or footers are not accepted.

Submissions must be emailed to gd868414@ohio.edu by November 2nd, 2019 in a single pdf file. Submission emails must contain your name, phone number, school of enrollment, year, and field of study. Any questions regarding the OPOW contest may be emailed to kp440716@ohio.edu.
