Use the ARC? Love the ARC

Apr 12, 2018

Was there life before the Academic & Research Center (ARC)? Please keep these tips in mind as finals week approaches!

This is a shared space with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and others on campus

Be courteous to custodians and mindful of ARC ground rules, which are listed below.

Project team rooms are for student groups on a first-come, first-serve basis. Group work is prioritized, so it is acceptable to ask individuals studying in a room alone to share or relocate. Erase the whiteboards and pick up after yourself when leaving.

No camping out or sleeping in the building, especially project team rooms.

As a reminder, the following ground rules were established by Russ and Heritage College student leaders in 2016:

  • Project team rooms are for groups of students on a first-come, first -served basis. If you’re leaving for an extended period of time, you must take your belongings with you. (This is based on an existing process that has been posted in these rooms for several years.)
  • Be courteous to others. Erase the whiteboards when you are done and pick up after yourself. Any “don’t erase” note written on the board is invalid.
  • Groups have priorities over individual students. It’s OK to ask someone in a room by themselves to share or relocate if a group that needs the space. If you’re asked to share or relocate, be respectful and accommodating.
