The Civil War didn’t just affect the United States—it caused global disruption. Two hundred years later, many think our nation is more polarized than ever. Are we headed toward another era of international crises and domestic tension?

Join Associate Professor of History Brian Schoen as he discusses these re-emerging issues during his Café Conversation, “The U.S. Civil War and Global Crisis: Then and Now,” on Wed., Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. in Baker Center Front Room.

Café Conversations are part of OHIO’s Café Series and offer a venue for students to informally share their interests with faculty presenters, staff and the Athens community. The first 50 attendees get free coffee and those who ask questions win a free t-shirt.
