Baker Center Front Room

How can toxic sludge become a work of art? Find out at the next Sceince Cafe on Wed., Oct. 5, at 5 p.m. in Baker Center's Front Room, where Russ College Associate Professor of Civil Engineering Guy Riefler and Professor of Art John Sabraw will explain their unique and innovative process for turning acid mine drainage into paint pigments.

Sponsored by the Ohio University Research Division and Sigma Xi, Science Cafes provide a venue for students to informally share their interests during a conversational exchange with faculty presenters, staff and the Athens community. The first 50 attendees get free coffee, and participants who ask questions can win a free t-shirt.
