Russ Prize recipient lecture: The modern cochlear implant – 2/23

2015 Russ Prize Recipient Blake Wilson, a professor of electrical engineering at Duke University and co-director of the Duke Hearing Center, will present a Stocker Lecture on Thurs., Feb 23, at from 3:30-5 p.m. in Baker Center Theatre, followed by a reception from 5-5:30 p.m. 

Wilson is the co-inventor of the cochlear implant, which restores hearing and enables high levels of speech recognition with no visual cues for those with profound hearing loss. He’ll discuss the steps that led to the betterment of the cochlear implant, and what the future looks like for similar devices. 

The lecture will be live-streamed online for those who can't attend.
