Advising

At the Russ College, we take your academic success seriously. You'll have an assigned faculty advisor for your major area, and you'll meet each semester to help you navigate course selection and offer information about activities beyond the classroom that will help you develop as a student, a leader, and a future engineer.

The Mechanical Engineering Department's faculty advisors meet one-on-one with each student during the University's Academic Advising Week each semester. Advisors work with each student's individual situation, helping them select courses, explore research opportunities and out-of-class activities best suited for their personal interests and career goals.

Find information about Advising Week through the Ohio University Academic Calendar and the Russ College E-News, which is distributed weekly, to determine when Advising Week is scheduled.

If you are unsure of who your advisor is, use the "MyOHIO" tool to look up your current advisor.

If you need an advisor assigned, please contact the department office at 740.593.1553.
