Biomedical Engineering Program

Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical engineering is a unique specialization emerging from the need to develop and build new diagnostics, devices, and treatments for patients with a range of health care needs. Whether it's a novel biomaterial for drug delivery, a potent and selective molecular therapeutic, an innovative imaging algorithm or a biomarker for cancer metastasis, these critical advances make a world of difference to patient outcomes.

Through our undergraduate 4+1 program and M.S. programs in biomedical engineering, the Russ College is preparing the next generation of problem solvers to improve patient lives through innovation in cellular and biomolecular engineering, biomaterials, and biomedical information processing.

Students enrolling in the university's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine are eligible for a dual degree option in medicine and biomedical engineering.
