Our engineering technology and management curriculum is a combination of general education per university requirements, business courses amounting to a minor in business, a technical core and electives.

The technical core, comprising 56 credit hours, includes coursework in

  • Lean
  • Six Sigma
  • CAD and solid modeling
  • Material Science
  • production and operations
  • materials and manufacturing processes
  • computer applications
  • programming, electronics
  • quality assurance
  • automation
  • robotics and control systems.

Most courses in the technical core require extensive hands-on laboratory time in addition to the classroom lecture/theory time.

In addition to the core technical classes, two technical electives are required and can be chosen from courses such as technical documentation, PLC, ISO, computer numerical control, and advanced plastics processes, as well as select courses offered by other departments in the college.

The department also offers two certificate programs. Our Project Management Certificate Program’s activity-based work will enable you to practice successful project management skills – and you’ll also gain a valuable resume credential. Through our Lean Six Sigma Certificate Program, you'll work individually and on teams to learn how to remove waste, streamline processes, and add value.
