The Russ College of Engineering and Technology’s online graduate engineering programs rank 37th in the nation and 2nd in Ohio for 2019, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s (USNWR).

The Russ College offers three online graduate programs – a master of engineering management (MEM), a master of science in civil engineering (MSCE), and a master of science in electrical engineering (MSEE). The USNWR evaluated each program for a variety of factors including instructor engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies.

OHIO’s online programs enable individuals to work from wherever they are, at their convenience.

Russ College Dean Dennis Irwin said the online programs truly change careers and lives.

“Every commencement, I talk to more and more students who are visiting the campus for the first time – from California, Florida, Texas, and eastern Pennsylvania. Each one indicates to me a high regard for the value of their experience with these programs, and most tell me that the online degree has or will enhance their career through promotions, new job opportunities or enhanced job security.” Irwin said. “Our external advisory board members closely monitor the quality of these programs closely, so we know they provide high quality as well as high value. This additional external validation is welcome and highly gratifying.”

The USNWR reports that 98 percent of Russ College online graduate students are employed at the time of their enrollment. The programs offer online labs, and courses that are recorded and archived, so students can access the learning materials whenever needed.

“We’re glad to see our online program recognized once again for its high quality,” said Guy Riefler, chair of the Department of Civil Engineering. “We’re proud to provide working, professional engineers a convenient degree to advance their career and improve their skills.”
