Leonard Kohn, a renowned scientist who was an emeritus member of the biomedical engineering program faculty, died in April.
Kohn’s research into autoimmune-inflammatory disease and cancer laid the foundation for work that several BME faculty members continue today.
In addition, he was a key advocate for the establishment of the BME program.
“The program and the university have lost a great scientist, mentor, and friend,” said Doug Goetz, director of the BME program. “He will be greatly missed.”
