Students from BME labs attend organization's annual conference

Students from the laboratories of two biomedical engineering program faculty members attended the Biomedical Engineering Society annual fall meeting.
The 2012 meeting, held in Atlanta in the final week of October, attracted nearly 4,000 participants.

Bibo Shi, a BME master's program graduate who is a doctoral student in the computer science lab of BME faculty member Jundong Liu, made a poster presentation as lead author ofthe paper "Registration-Based Segmentation of Intra-Abdominal and Subcutaneous Adipose Tissue in 3D Mouse Micro-CT."

BME master's program student Eric Martin and chemical engineering PhD candidate Grady Carlson participated in the Coulter College, which was associated with the BMES meeting. Martin and Carlson are students in the lab of BME faculty member Monica Burdick. The Coulter College, a production of the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation, focuses on "translating innovations in the lab to viable clinical products." Carlson is a graduate of both the chemical engineering undergraduate program and the BME master's program at Ohio University.
