Three BME faculty members among Russ award winners

Monica Burdick is the recipient of the Russ Outstanding Research Paper Award for 2012. Burdick, a member of the biomedical engineering program faculty, is an assistant professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
She was honored for her paper "Gangiolsides Expressed on Breast Cancer Cells are E-Selectin Ligands."
The award was announced May 11 at the annual Russ College awards banquet.
Burdick and fellow BME faculty members JungHun Choi and John Cotton received additional awards. Burdick and Choi were named winners of White Research Awards, and Cotton won a White Teaching Award.
The White Awards honor a faculty member in each department of the Russ College. Choi and Cotton are assistant professors of mechanical engineering.
