Hometown: Bellefontaine, Ohio

Expected Graduation: Spring 2019

Nicholas grew up in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and his family currently lives in Charleston, South Carolina, where he hopes to start a career after graduation.

He began college at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology as a mechanical engineering major. In the spring of 2016, Nicholas transferred to Ohio University and changed his major to civil engineering. He says transferring to OHIO and switching to civil engineering are two of his best decisions, and he plans to enjoy his last year in Athens.

Nicholas interned twice with Seamon Whiteside, a civil engineering consulting firm in Charleston, South Carolina. He worked in the land development field, where he hopes to continue after graduation.

Aside from classwork and serving as an Engineering Ambassador, he’s a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He says that being a transfer student made it more difficult to join clubs he could’ve as a freshman, but being an Engineering Ambassador has helped him integrate into the Russ College and OHIO communities.

In his free time, he enjoys working out, golfing, and playing pick-up basketball.
