Melissa Kuchta

Ambassador 2018-2020
Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Hometown: Chesterland, Ohio

Expected Graduation: Spring 2020

Ohio University was the first place Melissa visited when searching for potential colleges. After experiencing the warm and friendly people, beautiful campus, unique history, and great chemical engineering program, she knew that her search for a second home was over.

As a freshman, Melissa knew that she wanted to get involved with different student organizations on campus. In addition to being an Engineering Ambassador, Melissa is a small group coordinator for a health and fitness sorority called CHAARG—Changing Health Attitudes and Actions to Recreate Girls—where she leads weekly workouts and attends several chapter events. She is also involved in Tau Beta Pi on campus, the engineering honor society.

During summer 2019, Melissa enjoyed her second rotation as a proposals engineering co-op at ABB, Inc. in Cleveland—a sustainability driven control system and electronic manufacturer.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys being active by participating in activities such as running, yoga, and hiking on the many trails that the Athens area has to offer.
