Haley Nau was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She acquired an interest in civil engineering after taking a high school physics course. She was originally apprehensive about pursuing an engineering degree, but she gained comfort from Ohio University’s close-knit community and the Russ College’s support.

During summer 2019, Haley interned at Turner Construction Company in San Francisco working on SFO Airport’s Terminal 2 Build-Back. The previous summer she worked in Columbus, Ohio, on the construction of the Pediatric Behavioral Health Facility at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. On campus, she is an undergraduate research assistant and works on many projects for the department of civil engineering.

Haley is a member of professional engineering fraternity Theta Tau and the Robe Leadership Institute.
