Master's in Curriculum and Instruction
The Master's in Curriculum and Instruction is designed for teachers and educators with a teaching license or certificate in any content area or age/grade band level. Teachers entering this NBPTS-aligned program can strengthen their knowledge, skills, and dispositions in instruction, curriculum design, and evaluation and conduct research that is customizable to your own classroom or district.
Master's in Coaching Education
The Master's in Coaching Education program provides students with cutting-edge coaching pedagogy and practical experience to pursue a coaching career in youth sports, interscholastic or intercollegiate athletics, and Olympic or professional sports. We offer three tracks to meet your coaching needs. The two tracks with fully online coursework are listed here:

Master's in Higher Education
This 100% online master's program advances the skills of administrators in higher education in a cohort format. The curriculum offers meaningful knowledge and skills through a schedule that enables employed individuals to take courses at the times and locations that are most convenient for them.
Reading Education
We offer two programs in reading to meet the needs of busy teachers. The Reading Endorsement enhances your knowledge and instructional skills in reading and writing beyond the foundation required of beginning teachers. These graduate courses can be used to renew your teaching license or as part of our Master's in Reading Education. The faculty within our advanced master's program work to help licensed teachers further their knowledge and understanding of language and reading development, teach K–12 reading, administer reading assessments and make data-driven decisions, work with other teachers and specialists to design appropriate reading instruction to meet the needs of all students, and develop and conduct original research to further their own learning.
Mixed Methods Research Certificate
There is a growing demand for working professionals in academia and industry who can rigorously integrate qualitative and quantitative research methods and data to address complex issues. Our fully online Certificate in Mixed Methods Research is the only program of its kind in the state and is designed to prepare students to become effective users who can utilize mixed methods in practice.
Master's in School Counseling
The School Counseling specialization program at Ohio University is offered to any student with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline seeking a fully online program (including K-12 professionals seeking career advancement or transition). This program provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to empower you with the skills and expertise necessary for effective school counseling. Special Education
The focus of the Special Education program centers on the delivery of quality services within limited resource environments. There are three different master's degrees in special education with eligibility for Ohio teacher licensure as an Intervention Specialist, including Early Childhood, Mild to Moderate, and Moderate to Intensive.
