The Summer Residential Phase is an intensive six-week program during which Upward Bound students live on campus in a university residence hall. Students enroll in academic courses, as well as study skills, and fine art courses. These courses are designed to help students build academic and social skills that assist with the transition to a new grade level and ultimately to college upon high school graduation. Cultural, recreational, and social activities are also provided on the weekends.
Summer instructors and residential staff are needed for the six-week residential component to ensure that students realize their academic potential, as well as have a positive and memorable experience. Moreover a committed, hardworking, and motivated staff is essential to guaranteeing that our Summer Residential Phase is successful.
All residential staff resides in an Ohio University residence hall with our Upward Bound students throughout the Summer Residential Phase. Residential Staff serve as positive role models for their students. Applications for the Tutor/Mentor position will be available in January 2017.
