November 29, 2018 : FAFSA Help Ohio workshop coming Dec 4 to Ohio University Eastern

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio University Eastern Student Services Office will be holding a free FAFSA Help Ohio workshop on Tuesday, December 4 at 6pm in Shannon Hall.  The goal of the workshop is to help college bound families navigate through the financial aid process and answer questions about the FAFSA.

To register for the workshop, senior high school students and their parents are invited to go to and click on the “Schedule a Visit” button on the left side, or call (740) 699-2536.

“Our financial aid workshop will provide you with information about student aid opportunities from the federal government (FAFSA), the state, as well as private sources,” said Diann Nickerson, enrollment services manager.  “This is an opportunity to learn the importance of the FAFSA, seeking guidance from financial aid personnel, and meeting deadlines.”

According to Nickerson, her staff will also be able to help the participants complete their individual FAFSA’s on-site if both parents and students bring their 2017 income tax and banking records with them to the workshop.

In addition, participants will receive handouts to take home for reference that will include website resources and where to look for scholarship opportunities.

“Being fiscally responsible is something Ohio University strives to impress upon its students, Nickerson added.  “Learning about the tools and resources available will help students discover the best options for making fiscally sound decisions about their college education.”

Ohio University Eastern is conveniently located off I70, just five minutes west of the Ohio Valley Mall, in St. Clairsville.
