Stephanie Fike
October 08, 2019 : Ohio University Eastern’s Stephanie Fike selected for Homecoming Court

Stephanie Fike, a senior elementary education major at Ohio University Eastern, has been chosen to be on the 2019 OHIO Homecoming Court.  The Wheeling native is one of five finalists and is believed to be the first-ever Eastern Campus student to be selected for the honor.

The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at halftime of the OHIO football game versus Northern Illinois on Saturday, October 12 in Athens.  The Queen is selected by the popular vote of OHIO students, faculty, and staff.

Selection for the Homecoming Court is a two-part process.  Stephanie was chosen as a finalist by the Homecoming Committee based on her resume.  She was then selected for the Homecoming Court following a group interview in Athens.

“I am honored to be representing the Eastern Campus and all regional campuses as a member of the 2019 Homecoming Court,” she said.  “It has been a wonderful experience thus far and I am excited to travel to Athens this weekend for the Homecoming activities.”

According to Paula McMurray-Schwartz, associate professor of early childhood education, Stephanie is the perfect choice for Homecoming Queen.  McMurray-Schwartz said, “Stephanie is a dedicated and enthusiastic student who has made her mark in the classroom and in the community.  She will represent us well in Athens this weekend.”

Stephanie, a Wheeling Central graduate, is the daughter of David and Janet Fike.
