August 28, 2017 : Community Auditions set for ‘A Christmas Carol’ at Ohio University Eastern

The Theater Department of Ohio University Eastern announces open community auditions for its up-coming production of the Charles Dickens holiday classic “A Christmas Carol.”  Adapted by Barbara Field, this warm and theatrical production has been hugely successful for many years at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.  Theater and music are combined in this version to create a yuletide event for the entire family.

OUE Theatre produced “A Christmas Carol” five years ago and it was so successful that Director Dennis Fox decided to re-stage the production to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of Ohio University Eastern.

Roles are available for fifteen men and women of all ages, and for four school-children aged 7 and above, gender non-specific.  Speaking roles are available in all sizes.  No previous acting experience is necessary and all those interested are encouraged to audition.  Actors do not need to have a monologue or a song prepared.

Auditions for “A Christmas Carol” will be held Tuesday, September 12, and Wednesday, September 13, each evening at 7pm in the Shannon Hall Theater.  Rehearsals begin October 2 and production dates are November 30, December 1, 2, 3 and December 7, 8, 9.  For more information or for anyone unable to attend these audition times, please contact OUE Theatre Director Dennis Fox at ouetheater@ohio.edu or at (740) 699-2340.
