ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio – Dr. Paul Abraham will address his first graduating class as dean of the Ohio University Eastern Campus at the annual Honors Convocation on Friday, May 2 at 7pm in the Health and Physical Education Center.
This year’s class features 106 graduate recipients in fields such as applied management, communication studies, criminal justice, early childhood education, exercise physiology, health services administration, history, middle childhood education, social work, specialized studies and technical and applied studies.
The main speaker for the event will be the Honorable Edmund Sargus. Sargus, a St. Clairsville native, has been a federal court judge in Columbus for nearly 20 years. His wife, Jennifer, a recently retired Belmont County judge, will also be honored at the convocation with a proclamation from the county commissioners.
The student speaker, Mr. Zachary Kinnick, is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and will begin the doctoral program in physical therapy in Athens this fall. The St. Clairsville High School alum achieved an overall gpa of 3.9 at OUE and finished the demanding program in three years.
A reception for the graduates and their families, faculty and staff will be held immediately following the ceremony.
