Dr. Shari Clarke would rather be at the mall-She loves shopping and her favorite saying is “Yes, that’s on sale!” Her love of clothes was recognized when she was voted Best Dressed & Most Sophisticated in College! Shari is an avid reader, lover of antiques, art, and all things Barbra Streisand.  A devoted mom of two former basketball standouts-she adores her sons Austin & Iain and being Bonus-Mom to Gina and John (they are the children of my heart). She and her husband John are madly in love, recently celebrating 30 years of marriage.

Ty Carr

Ty Carr just started his 25th year at OHIO even though he had only planned to spend two years in Athens. He is now considered a "Townie" and has two boys born and raised in Southeastern Ohio. He loves all sports, is a big fan of Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Cavaliers & Atlanta Braves and loves reading comics. When Ty grows up he wants to be a Sports Analyst for ESPN.

Her horse, bike riding, music, real Mexican food, star gazing-especially during midnight rides through the woods in the winter snow, exploratory art, dancing, and sharing it all with her husband John, their children Miguela and Sahuaro, parents, family, and good friends…that’s what Alicia is about!

When Amanda isn’t working tirelessly to make the world a better place, she’s a devoted, fun-loving mother to four crazy kids, a wife to a tow boater and a lover of anything vintage and refurbished! She was born and raised in the country-25 minutes south of Athens, can parallel park their full sized pickup truck like a boss, and has one the most kind and lovable, 90lb Blue Nosed Pit Bulls you’ll ever meet. Amanda is a first-generation college student currently working one step at a time to finish with her Master’s degree in Middle-Childhood Education to one day become a middle school social studies teacher in Southeastern Ohio, she hates scary movies and can still fit in the same socks she wore in high school!

 

 

 

Jamie Oxendine

Jamie Oxendine  

Jamie is a Native American Speaker, Writer, Educator, Storyteller, Professional Musician and Civil Rights Activist. He is of Lumbee/Creek Ancestry and a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. Jamie is a successful recording artist having been nominated three times for a NAMMY (Native American Music Award) for Best Independent Recording of the Year! Along with his success as a recording artist, Jamie composed and performed a musical score for a docu-drama that has aired on PBS and independent stations across the Southeast. Jamie's talents go far beyond music, for he has several published papers on the Native American Culture, is Editor at www.PowWows.com, an Eagle Staff Keeper, and a part-time Professor at the University of Toledo, to name a few of his talents and achievements.

Jayne was born in Princeton, NJ but has lived most her life in Athens, making her a townie at heart. Jayne is ready to make big changes in her life and plans to move out west in 2017. Her best friend is her 100 pound Bernese Mountain dog, Beauty. She wants to adopt another Bernese Mountain dog and name him Beast. Jayne would choose staying in and watching scary movies over going out any day. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, she loves pizza!

Delfin’s enthusiasm for stretching comfort zones led him to don the Rufus Costume for Columbus Pride 2016, Rufus’ first appearance in the parade and at a LGBT-specific event (the costume is still moist with delfin’s sweat!).  Delfin is an equal opportunity eater who does not discriminate gastrointestinal delights and enjoys the art of eating in large quantities. Delfin’s new mission…to reclaim “Netflix and chill” to truly mean to watch Netflix and chill, especially with his dearly beloved Jason!

Widely known as the Jamaican bombshell, cannot swim, cannot ride a bike, and breaks out when she stays in the sun even for short periods. She adores her dog Reka and is aunty to 3 dogs and 2 cats! Winsome could talk your ear off and she has a story for EVERYTHING!!!

Patricia loves to travel (especially to the beach), play euchre, go to movies, and attend Copperheads games in the summer. She is an avid supporter of the Ohio University Men’s Basketball team. Her passion is genealogy. This year she discovered that she is descended from Roger Williams, the founder of Rhode Island. She and her husband have five grandchildren (so far), with four of them living in Athens. Her very best buddy is Opie, her rescued Dachshund.

Marlene loves to make a point! Actually, it's a million of them! She loves pointilism and the lovely art that she can create one point or dot at a time. Secretly, she also enjoys reading Ian McEwan’s novels and sneaking in the latest adolescent literature with her three daughters. She is an avid birder and loves to explore the outdoors with family and friends.

Alison is married to Ohio University’s Assistant Baseball Coach, Craig Moore. They have two boys, ages 4 and 8. If Alison wasn’t working in Higher Education, she’d be a Professional Organizer! 90’s Hip Hop and R&B are what Alison gets down to in her car, at work and while she’s dancing around at home!

Some fun facts about Tommy…he is originally from Southern California and has driven his car from Southern California to Maine, completing his reverse manifest destiny. Tommy is an Eagle Scout who loves the outdoors and has climbed Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. He starts almost every day with a CrossFit workout at the local CrossFit box-Crazy huh?

Jacob loves barbecue meat, and he eats lots of barbecue meat but he's not sure where it disappears to! After Jacob's daily Shotokan karate gig and the day in question still feels like he is pushing an elephant backwards uphill, he encourages himself to remember that it is already almost tomorrow in Shanghai.

Billy Kennedy is an overall happy person who loves to laugh. Billy has a passion to work with students and help them succeed. Since he is from Cleveland, Ohio (the real inner city, not the burbs) he is an avid Cleveland Sports fan. One thing that most people do not know about Billy is that he loves those Little Debbie Christmas Tree cakes. During the holiday it makes him feel good.

Geneva has an addiction to sunflower seed shells, Dr. Pepper, and spending time with her dog, Roger (full name: Roger Rupert Walter Frasier Yoda Puppies, but you can call him Roger for short). Geneva will take any excuse to dress up in fun costumes of wonderful women, real or fictionalized, throughout history.
