Diversity and Inclusion's Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Dear Campus Community,
As of March 16, 2020, the physical spaces within the Division of Diversity and Inclusion will close until further notice. This includes: the LGBT Center, Multicultural Center, OMSAR, and the Women’s Center. We – as a division – are still open and here to serve you. We are still able to provide remote office hours, virtual trainings, and online programming. Please reach out!
At times of crisis, it is frequently the most vulnerable who are disproportionately impacted. In the case of the coronavirus, this is certainly true for those who are most at risk of health complications. It is also true for those who during this time are facing challenges with childcare and eldercare, returning home to or extending their stay in communities that may not be supportive of the LGBTQ community, and those who are faced with racism and bias.
Please utilize our offices, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Equity and Civil Rights Compliance’s bias incident reporting form to report incidents of bias and racism occurring within Ohio University and our surrounding communities.
We understand that moving to online learning can create new challenges – as well as opportunities. Student Accessibility Services is available to help you as new accommodations may be needed. Please reach out to their offices at 740-593-2620 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
While we practice social distancing to try to diminish the spread, please still reach out to your network that are impacted by this. If you are impacted by this, there are still services to support your mental and emotional well-being. We can and should all be allies to one another - now and always.

Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion
