Pick Up a Vault Health COVID-19 Test on OHIO Regional and Extension Campuses
Vault Health COVID-19 test kits are for asymptomatic testing only and are available for pickup on regional and extension campuses while supplies last.
If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, follow the OHIO COVID-19 Protocol and do not use a Vault Health test.
The Vault Health test is a saliva-based PCR test with results in 48-72 hours after it arrives at the lab (individual must ship test to lab after self-administering the test with online supervision via Zoom).
BinaxNOW antigen test kits are available as well. The BinaxNOW antigen test is a rapid nasal swab test, self-administered with online supervision, with results in approximately 15 minutes.
All tests will be sent via UPS either the same day or the following day based on time of drop off. Individuals can use any available open space on campus to administer the test; additionally, Wi-Fi has been extended to each of the campuses’ parking lots.
Please return the test as soon as possible after you take it, either by dropping it off at one of the campus locations listed below, or by shipping it back via UPS following the instructions at the bottom of this page.

Taking Your Test
- Do not eat, drink, chew, or smoke anything for at least 30 minutes before giving the sample, but hydrate well before this 30-minute fast.
- Do not open the bubble pack containing the test until you are logged into Zoom with your test supervisor. Opening the bubble pack will invalidate your sample and will result in you needing to order another kit. Read instructions for Vault Health at-home testing.
- When you are ready to take the test, log into Zoom using the instructions included in your test kit. Use your Ohio University email address in all communication and registration activities related to Vault COVID-19 testing. Provide your full PID (including the 'P' and leading zeros). A Vault representative will supervise your test; allow about 20 minutes for this process.
- Photograph or write down your test kit ID number and the tracking number on the return pouch before mailing it back.
- If you have any questions or need assistance with your test, please contact Vault Health’s Customer Care directly at 212-880-5494.
Shipping Your Test Kit to Vault Health

- Ship the test back using the prepaid UPS shipping label before 4 p.m. local time or as soon as possible after you take it. You may also request a UPS pickup. You can locate a UPS drop-off point here.
- You will receive your result via email in 48–72 hours. Your result will reflect your health at the time you took the test. To stay healthy, it is important to continue practicing public health measures like washing hands and wearing a mask indoors when in areas of high transmission.
