Every year the OUtstanding Administrator Award is presented to three administrators at Ohio University. The award winners are honored at the Administrative Senate Service Awards ceremony in the spring.  

Awardees receive a cash award ($2,000), as well as a framed citation and a plate added to the plaque for the OUstanding Administrator Awardees (located in Chubb Hall). Previous winners have come from all areas of the University and nominations are accepted from all members of the University community; faculty, administrative and classified staff and students.

Candidates for the award must have all of the following qualifications:

• A minimum of five (5) years of consecutive service as a full or part-time administrator and be currently serving as a full or part-time administrator;
• The administrative responsibility may be at any level (professional responsibility with or without managerial responsibility); and
• A presidential appointee, with employment of nine, 10, 11 or 12 months, who spends 50 percent or more of her/his time in administrative responsibilities.

The selection committee, comprised of administrators, faculty, classified staff and students screen the nominations. They collect information from the nominees, conduct interviews and determine the three winners.
