History and Philosophy of Science | Suffering: A Neurofunctional Account

The Ohio University Lectures in the History and Philosophy of Science series presents Dr. Colin Allen on “Suffering: A Neurofunctional Account.” Allen is Distinguished Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh.

The Heritage College Office of Research and Grants - Brown Bag Session

The Heritage College Office of Research and Grants will be hosting a brown bag lunch session about research opportunities for summer between Years 1 and 2.

Albany Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Clinic

Tuesday, Dec. 4, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Christ Community Wesleyan Church, 6275 Kenney Memorial Lane, Albany, OH 45710

Breast and cervical cancer screenings, breast health education and navigation will be provided by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Community Health Program. In collaboration with OhioHealth Mobile Mammography same-day mammograms will be provided to uninsured, underinsured and insured women. Appointments are required.

Active Shooter Training (ALiCE)

Thursday, Dec. 6, 8:30 - 10 a.m., Baker University Center, 1 Park Place, Athens, OH 45701

The goal of the active shooter preparedness training is to encourage and promote discussion and to help participants be more prepared should an active shooter incident occur. George Washington Forum | Ross Douthat of The New York Times

Thursday, Dec. 6, 7:30 - 8:30 p.m., Galbreath Chapel

The George Washington Forum at Ohio University presents Ross Douthat of The New York Times on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Galbreath Chapel. He has written a twice-weekly opinion column for The New York Times since 2009.
