Event Services unveils new online reservation system, assumes management of spaces inside Multicultural Center

Ohio University Event Services is pleased to unveil an upgraded and more user-friendly online reservation system – complete with a new name and a new URL – and to announce that it will be managing additional reservable space inside Baker University Center.

Following an upgrade that occurred June 19-25, Event Services’ Virtual Event Management System (EMS) now has a new look designed to improve the user experience, as well as backend improvements that will allow automatic notifications and internal reporting. As of 9 a.m. June 25, the system also has a new name – the EMS Web App – as well as a new URL, http://eventmgt.ohio.edu. All reservations made through the previous Virtual EMS prior to June 19 are not affected by these changes and will be honored.

Event Services’ EMS allows anyone with an OHIO ID, both employees and students, to reserve space for their events at venues – both indoors and outdoors – throughout the Athens Campus. Among those indoor reservable spaces are Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium, the Walter Hall Rotunda, Galbreath Chapel and major event spaces located within OHIO’s Baker University Center, including the Ballroom and Baker Theatre.

Effective at 9 a.m. Monday, July 16, Event Services will assume management of two reservable spaces within OHIO’s Multicultural Center (MCC) on the second floor of Baker University Center – the conference room and MCC 219 (formerly known as the multipurpose room). Previously, individuals and groups interested in reserving those spaces had to call the Multicultural Center. The change in management of those spaces is designed to help eliminate user confusion and to provide a more centralized location for reserving spaces within Baker University Center.

Both the conference room and MCC 219 may be reserved through the EMS Web App. Those interested in reserving the conference may also do so by calling Event Services at 740-593-4021.

All reservations made through the Multicultural Center Office for MCC 219 and the MCC conference room prior to the abovementioned change are not affected by this transition and will be honored.
