iCUE Spotlight: May 23-30, 2019

Take a look at the upcoming events on the official OHIO Calendar of University Events. Anyone with an active OHIO ID can log in and complete the form to add events that are sponsored by any OHIO planning unit or registered student organization.

So be sure to add your OHIO events, programs and deadlines to the CUE to help keep all members of our University community in the loop!

Here’s a look at a few upcoming events:

Kennedy Museum of Art: Merging Concepts V

Through Sept. 8, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Kennedy Museum of Art (Lin Hall), Athens OH 45701

Merging Concepts is an annual exhibition created by the students in the Museum Studies Certificate program for their practicum project. Drawing from collections across the university and community, this exhibition explores the connections between seemingly unrelated artifacts.

 

Alden Library 50th Anniversary Celebration

Thursday, May 23, 2 - 3:30 p.m. Alden Library, Athens OH 45701

Alden Library will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the building's dedication. This event is free and open to the public, light refreshments will be served.

 

OUPD Stroll Patrol

Tuesday, May 28 and Thursday, May 30, Noon - 12:35 p.m. Bird Arena, 23 Oxbow Trail, Athens OH 45701

Join the Ohio University Police Department and WellWorks for a lunchtime walk. All members of the OHIO and Athens communities are welcome to join us for a special guest, good conversations and get your steps in! We'll meet between Grover Center and Bird Arena.

 

Optional Practical Training Workshop

Wednesday, May 29, 3 - 4 p.m. Walter International Education Center, 15 Park Place, Athens OH 45701

The Optional Practical Training workshop provides an introduction to the OPT program and provides information on how to apply. Attendance is mandatory before applying for OPT. Optional Practical Training provides an opportunity for F-1 students to gain employment authorization from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service for jobs that are directly related to their field of study and current education degree level.

Last day to add a full summer semester class (instructor’s permission required)

Last day to apply for or change a grading option for full summer semester class

Last day to receive partial fee adjustment for complete withdrawal for full summer semester

Last day to register for full summer semester

Last day to remove (drop) a full summer semester class with possible fee adjustment

 

Saturday, May 25, 2019

Students may withdraw from (drop) one or more full summer semester classes through July 19

Last day to check out of residence hall to receive 40% housing/meal plan refund

 

Monday, May 27, 2019

Memorial Day holiday (University offices officially closed; classes not in session)

Last day to register for first summer session

Last day to apply for or change a grading option for first summer session class
