CLDC to host Teacher Job Fair on April 1

Representatives from over 50 school districts throughout the country will be attending the upcoming Ohio University Teacher Job Fair, hosted by the Career and Leadership Development Center.

Scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the Baker University Center Ballroom, the Teacher Job Fair provides students interested in pursuing education as a career a chance to connect with potential employment opportunities.

This event is open to students and alumni from all campuses who have received teacher licensure in the state of Ohio, according to Aaron Sturgill, associate director for employer relations at the CLDC.

“Students can meet with educators and districts from throughout the region,” Sturgill said. “There are also schools that travel to Ohio from as far as Colorado, Arizona and Alaska, which means there are a variety of opportunities for students to initiate their career in education.”

A list of schools attending the event and the positions they are recruiting can be found on the Handshake event page, which will be updated as more employers register.

Student check-in for the event is from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. outside the Baker University Center Ballroom. Networking is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Interviews will start at 9 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. The event is open to all OHIO students and alumni, and pre-registration is not required.

Students attending the event should dress in business professional attire and bring any materials they would like to share with potential employers, such as a resume or portfolio.
