‘Profiles in Faculty Achievement’ video highlights Fine Arts’ Roger Braun

As far back as he can remember, Roger Braun has known that he would be a percussionist. It’s a professional dream that he is living to the fullest at Ohio University where he is thriving as a student of music, a teacher of music and a performer of music.

A professor and director of percussion studies in the College of Fine Arts’ School of Music, Braun is the latest Ohio University faculty member to be featured in University Communications and Marketing’s “Profiles in Faculty Achievement” video series. Launched in the fall of 2014, the video series is designed to recognize outstanding educators and researchers on all of Ohio University’s campuses while promoting the University’s commitment to academic excellence.

At OHIO’s College of Fine Arts, Braun is committed to the development of future music educators and performers, instilling in them the foundations of the field of music while guiding them as they forge their own individual paths. When he’s not teaching, Braun is embracing the global and collaborative nature of his profession and flourishing in a community of educators and performers.

In the “Profiles in Faculty Achievement” video, Braun reflects on his passion for studying, teaching and performing music and how his profession has provided him a path for personal growth and opportunities to connect with students and collaborate with musicians both at OHIO and throughout the world.

Being featured in the “Profiles in Faculty Achievement” video series is just the latest accolade for Braun who was one of five OHIO faculty members recognized in Ohio Magazine’s 2016 “Excellence in Education” edition and who received OHIO’s 2016 Presidential Teacher Award.
