Campus Rec to host first-ever Homecoming 5K and Fun Run/Walk

Ohio University’s Homecoming festivities include a new event designed to bring Bobcats past and present together with members of the community for camaraderie and a healthy, active start to their Homecoming Weekend.

Ohio University’s Department of Campus Recreation is hosting its first-ever OHIO Homecoming 5K and Fun Run/Walk, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, on the Athens Campus. Check-in begins at 6 a.m.

The event, which is open to individuals of all ages and fitness levels, will begin on the lawn of the Charles J. Ping Recreation Center, and the course will run through the Ohio University Golf Course and onto the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. 

Registration for the 5K is underway at https://www.recshop.ohio.edu/ and continues through the morning of the event. The cost to participate is $15 for Ohio University students, $25 for faculty and staff, and $30 for community members. Kroger of Athens is the event’s title sponsor.
