Ohio University will debut new homepage feature on Sept. 27

Visitors to Ohio University’s homepage will experience OHIO’s digital front door in a new way beginning Wednesday, Sept. 27, with the introduction of a large video featured prominently on the website, www.ohio.edu

The video spot, which can take the place of a static or rotating set of images, is a dynamic way to showcase what’s happening at OHIO – from the latest faculty research and student learning in and out of the classroom to campus beauty and vibrant student life.

“I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the Office of Information Technology and University Communications and Marketing who helped make this a reality,” said Chief Marketing Officer Renea Morris. “Recognizing the importance of OHIO’s website as a marketing tool to prospective students, their influencers and other important stakeholders, recent research shows that video gives a sense of the institution and has broad appeal that will make an impact. I believe the new video feature on the homepage will serve as an important gateway to showing the world everything that’s special about OHIO.”

To keep this tool dynamic and fresh, University Communications and Marketing will update the video regularly to reflect seasons, campaigns, and special events. It is also important to note that in the event of an emergency or major announcement that would need to be featured prominently on the home page, the video can easily be replaced by a static image. Any updates performed on the Alerts Page (www.ohio.edu/alert) would still function as they do currently.
