Employees encouraged to update contact information for emergency communications


With the start of the new academic year, the Office of Emergency Programs is encouraging all employees to update their contact information in the University system to ensure that they receive text messages in the event of an emergency. 

Faculty and staff should log in My Personal Information to update their contact information, including cell phone number. This information is not made public in any way and is stored securely through Human Resources. To update information through My Personal Information, follow these steps: 

1. My Personal Information can be accessed from Ohio University’s website, www.ohio.edu, by clicking the “Log In” dropdown menu in the green bar at the top of the page and choosing My Personal Information from the list. Through the Human Resources website, log into My Personal Information by choosing the “Current Employees” button and clicking My Personal Information from the Quick Links list on the right side of the page. Employees can log in using their OHIO ID and password. 

2. Once you are logged in, click "My Personal Information" on the left side of the website.

3. Several options will appear to the right under the heading of "My Personal Information." The first option should be "Personal Information." Click it.

4. You are now looking at the basic employee information. The information is divided into three headings: "Basic Details," "Phone Numbers" and "Main Address."

5. Locate the "Phone Numbers" header and click the "Update" button to the right of the header.

6. If your cellular phone or mobile device number is already listed, ensure that it is designated as such by the corresponding drop down menu.

7. If your cellular phone or mobile device number is not listed, select "Mobile or Cell" from the drop down menu under "Type."

8. Under "Number," type your phone number in this format (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

9. When you are finished, click "Next." You will be able to review the changes to your account. If everything is accurate, click "Submit."

All changes will appear in your personal information within 48 hours.
