Cleveland politician Nina Turner will host ‘90 Minutes’ conversation Sept. 27

The E.W. Scripps School of Journalism will host a “90 Minutes Series” candid conversation with Nina Turner, an up and coming Cleveland politician, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 in Schoonover 145.

Student Delaney Murray will serve as the moderator for the discussion. The talk is free and open to the public.

Turner has been a fiery voice in Cleveland politics for a while now, and her name is coming up as a possible future candidate for Ohio governor. As a prominent supporter of Bernie Sanders, she will discuss the politics of President Donald Trump and her own political agenda during the talk.

The talk is part of the “90 Minutes” series, which was developed last academic year to create discussions on politics, racism, sexism and global topics. The series exposed students to people who have faced adversity or who have seen bigotry and discrimination happen for others, but have stepped forward to address those social and cultural wrongs.

Additional sponsors of the “90 Minutes” series include: The Scripps Hispanic Network; Housing and Residence Life; Office of Student Affairs; Scripps College Diversity Committee; Office for Diversity and Inclusion; Resident’s Action Council; Women’s Center; The LGBT Center; Honors Tutorial College; Center for Law, Justice and Culture; Office of the Provost; Ohio University Police Department; and the Political Science Department.
