OHIO’s Career and Internship Fair: One-day event to bring opportunities to students, alumni

Ohio University’s bi-annual Career and Internship Fair, hosted by the Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC), is undergoing a significant change this semester.

Previously a two-day event, the fair has been reduced to one day. Erika Peyton, assistant director for employer relations and marketing at the CLDC, described the change as an efficiency measure designed to encourage more Bobcats to participate in this career exploration and networking opportunity.

The fall semester Career and Internship Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, in the Baker University Center Ballroom. The fair is free and open to both Ohio University students and alumni. Employers from diverse employment opportunities are expected to enrich this semester’s event.

Among the employers attending this semester’s fair are Microsoft, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, and Abbott, a global healthcare company that conducts research and manufactures products. A full list of the employers attending the event is available to students through their Bobcat CareerLink accounts

Registration for the Career and Internship Fair isn’t required, but is highly encouraged. Attendees who register by Sept. 24 will receive a printed nametag with their name, major and year of study to wear during the fair. To register for the Career and Internship Fair, click here

Leading up to the Career and Internship Fair, current students and alumni are encouraged to attend the Sept. 18-21 “Prepare for the Fair” events. To access more information about those events, click here.
