Bobcat Battalion’s third annual 9/11 Stair Challenge Memorial scheduled for Sept. 10

Ohio University’s Army ROTC Program – the Bobcat Battalion – is gearing up for its third annual 9/11 Stair Challenge Memorial in observation of the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

An opportunity for members of the OHIO and Athens-area communities to join together in remembering the lives lost and the heroism displayed by first responders on that tragic day, this year’s event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, at Peden Stadium. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the Stair Challenge scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

During the event, everyone is invited to join the cadets in the Bobcat Battalion in running or walking 2,071 steps in Peden Stadium in tribute to the 2,071 steps in one of the World Trade Center’s two towers.

This event is free and open to the entire community. A limited number of free T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
