OHIO to host first Bobcat Bash of the season

Come one, come all, to celebrate the beginning of football season with the first 2017 Bobcat Bash! Join your fellow Bobcats as OHIO takes on Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana on Sept. 8.

“For Bobcats and friends of Bobcats — and even for people who might be rooting for another

team — we invite anybody in that wants to start their day and their football experience with us,” said Ryan Boyd, assistant director of external relations.

The Bash will start prior to the game at 5:30 p.m. in Purdue’s Tent City at Ross-Ade Stadium. Tickets for the Bash can be purchased through the OHIO Alumni Association, and are $20 for ages 13 and up, $10 for ages 5 to 12, and free for kids 4 and under.

Registration for the event includes an all-you-can-eat buffet and two drink tickets, able to be redeemed for alcoholic beverages. Games and giveaways are also included!

Can’t make it to the Bash? Good thing there’s three more.

Next, OHIO will take over territory at the University of Massachusetts near McGuirk Alumni Stadium before the game on Sept. 30.

Then, the biggest and best of the Bashes is on Homecoming, Oct. 7, at Tailgreat Park across from Peden Stadium before OHIO takes on Central Michigan. Don’t miss out on bringing your Bobcat spirit home to Athens!

Lastly, travel with OHIO to Doyt Perry Stadium at Bowling Green University on Oct. 14.

“It doesn't matter how old you are, it doesn't matter who you are or where you came from, we can all get together in Bobcat spirit, which is pretty cool,” Boyd said.

Visit the Bobcat Bash homepage to register.

Purchase tickets for the football games by contacting the OHIO Athletic Department at 1-800-575-2287.
