Bobcat Nation rallies for Homecoming pre-game festivities

Come for the food. Stay for the game.

Join the OHIO Alumni Association for the 2017 Homecoming Bobcat Bash before OHIO takes on Central Michigan. Mingle with a few hundred of your closest Bobcat friends and enjoy picnic food, drinks and family-friendly games.

“It is alive at the tailgate. The energy that’s there is really something to enjoy,” said Dawn Werry, senior director of External Relations.

The Bobcat Bash will begin at either 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. Oct. 7, at Pepsi Tailgreat Park, across from Peden Stadium.

Saturday’s football kickoff time is variable because of media interest in the Bobcats, who have been picked to win the MAC East! Kickoff will either be at noon or 2 p.m. If the game begins at noon, the Homecoming Parade will step off at 9 a.m., followed by the Bobcat Bash at 10 a.m.

If the game is scheduled for 2 p.m., the Parade begins at 10 a.m. and the Bobcat Bash at 11 a.m.

Please plan accordingly, and check the Homecoming site on Sept. 25 for final kickoff details.

No matter what time the Bobcat Bash begins, it will feature live music and inflatables. The Association will also be giving away prizes for any who attend.

Tickets are $15, and can be bought online through pre-registration, or can be paid at the door of the tent.

“This is definitely one of our favorite events because we know alumni come back to enjoy this fun weekend with us,” Werry said.

To begin the Homecoming weekend excitement, the Association is also hosting the Yell Like Hell Pep Rally at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 5, in the Baker University Center. This giant party will feature the Marching 110 and the Singing Men of OHIO. The pre-party will begin at 8 p.m. and will roll right in to the main event.

"The Yell Like Hell pep rally is the ultimate kickoff, and we can't wait for students and alumni to bring their Bobcat spirit,” said Katrina Heilmeier, associate director of Campus Relations.

No matter how long you’ve been away, bring your Bobcat spirit, be ready to yell like hell, and celebrate the kickoff with the Bobcat family!
