iCUE Spotlight: July 24-30, 2017

What's in the CUE this week at Ohio U.

July is winding down as we enter Week 12 of the full summer semester and Week 5 of second summer session! Even though August is quickly approaching, and the weather is getting hotter than hot, there are still plenty of fun events and activities to enjoy! If you are having trouble finding something to do, look no further then the official OHIO Calendar of University Events (CUE). You'll find events from departments and student organizations across the University, as well as important dates and deadlines.

Here are a few highlights from the week ahead:

Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (Monday, July 24, 1 to 5 p.m., Grosvenor West): Honor students and physicians from the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine are providing treatment to uninsured (and underinsured) residents of southeastern Ohio. OMM clinics use hands-on techniques to diagnose and treat anything from muscle pains to asthma. People of all ages can benefit from this treatment. And visit the Heritage College calendar to find upcoming clinics throughout the region.

Recruitment Planning Lunch and Learn (Wednesday, July 26, 12 to 1 p.m., Human Resource and Training Center 154): Does your unit have an opening? Clear your schedule, grab a brown bag and attend a recruitment workshop presented by University Human Resources to help find that perfect, qualified applicant. The session will target several areas of the recruitment process and provide real examples of success. Space is limited so be sure to register ASAP.

Child Development Center Garden Party (Friday, July 28, 10 to 11.30 a.m., Child Development Center, The Ridges, Building 27): Join the children and staff of the CDC and celebrate the garden's harvest! Take some time out of your morning and enjoy a wonderful environment filled with fun and joy. Parents are welcome to bring their families.

Public Telescope Night at the OHIO Observatory (July 28-29, 9.30 to 11 p.m., The Ridges): Enjoy some celestial sights with OHIO's astronomy faculty and students! Visitors may stop by at their convenience and enjoy the peaceful sky and space. Faculty astronomers will be present, and assist, with stargazers. Stormy or cloudy skies may cancel this event, so remember to stay updated!

And a few more you won't want to miss:

#CUEtip: Did you miss an event? Before you panic, remember some events happen more than once. To see if an event is happening again on another date, click the "View Full Schedule" link on the event page (find it below the date and above the event image).

Remember, anyone with an active OHIO ID can add event information happening on all campuses! Visit to log in with your OHIO ID and add your organization or department's events to the central CUE. Feeling lost? Visit or e-mail for help.
