University Communications and Marketing to present crisis communication workshop Aug. 8

In partnership with the Office of Emergency Programs, University Communications and Marketing will present “Best Ways to Leverage Official Communication Channels During a Crisis," a workshop designed for unit business continuity planners, from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 in Baker University Center 231.

As a business continuity planner for your unit, you've already thought through some of the important contingencies to have in place to restore operations as quickly and as safely as possible. You may have given consideration to your worst case scenario and may have participated in a disaster drill or other training. But what about communications? What are the most effective ways to ensure the information you receive and disseminate is accurate, timely, and helpful to you and others involved in the situation? The answer is to ensure you know the official communication vehicles used by the institution and understand the best ways you can help spread the official news. This one-hour workshop will give you the tools you need to do this effectively and efficiently (in good times and in bad)!

The session is limited to 40 partcipants and RSVP is required by contacting Beverley Wyatt at wyatt@ohio.edu by Monday, Aug. 7.
