Students, alumni invited to participate in OHIO’s annual Teacher Job Fair on April 13

Ohio University’s annual Teacher Job Fair, hosted by the Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC), is scheduled for Friday, April 13. Free and open to all OHIO students and alumni, the fair is designed to allow aspiring educators to build connections with educational professionals, explore career opportunities and practice networking and interviewing skills – all in one day and all on the Athens Campus.

The event kicks off with check-in from 7 to 8 a.m. in the Baker University Center Theatre, followed by a networking hour from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Baker University Center Ballroom. The Teacher Job Fair is a first-come, first-serve event, so the first participant to check-in will be the first to meet with employers.

During the networking hour, employers will extend invitations to interview to Teacher Job Fair participants of their choosing. Those who are invited to interview will do so from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Baker University Center Ballroom.

Schools and school districts from throughout the country are expected to participate in the Teacher Job Fair. A growing list of employer participants is available through students’ and alumni’s Bobcat CareerLink accounts. A complete list will be available on the CLDC’s events webpage one week prior to the event.

CLDC services designed to prepare OHIO students and alumni for career exploration events and opportunities, including career coaching and mock interviews, are available here.

CLDC staff also encourages those planning to attend the Teacher Job Fair to participate in the center’s 21st Century Leadership Certificate and Professional Leadership Certificate workshops. Information about those workshops is available here.
