International Week set for April 1-8

Ohio University’s annual International Week celebration will be held April 1-8, with the International Street Fair taking place on Saturday, April 7.

This year’s International Week is focused on the theme, “Unity Through Diversity,” and will feature a wide range of events for students, faculty, staff and area residents.

One of the biggest events each year is the International Street Fair, which has become a popular attraction for the campus and the community. The Street Fair features food booths, cultural activities, music, dancing, speeches and activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

This year’s International Street Fair will have a slightly different location, as it will be held on East Union Street between Court Street and University Terrace. The main stage will be located at the Howard Park site at the corner of College Street and East Union Street.

The International Street Fair will begin at 11 a.m. with opening remarks and the annual parade of flags. The Street Fair will continue until 5 p.m.

Additional International Week events will include:

  • The International Student Union’s World Cup Soccer Tournament in Walter Fieldhouse on Sunday, April 1 and Sunday, April 8.

  • The flags representing the countries of OHIO’s international students will be placed on the College Green on Monday, April 2, and then again on Saturday, April 7 for the International Street Fair.
