Registration for OHIO’s Spring I intramural sports season runs Jan. 16-25

Ohio University students interested in staying active during spring semester while having some fun with their fellow Bobcats are invited to participate in OHIO’s Intramural Sports Program.

Administered by the Department of Campus Recreation, the first of two spring Intramural Sports seasons features five-on-five basketball, indoor volleyball, indoor soccer and badminton. Registration for those sports begins at midnight Tuesday, Jan. 16, and continues through 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25. For more information or to register, click here

The second spring semester Intramural Sports season will feature 11-on-11 outdoor soccer, four-on-four flag football, handball, kickball, two-on-two sand volleyball, team tennis and golf. Registration for those sports will be held Monday, Feb. 26, through Wednesday, March 7.

Campus Rec will be holding free agent meetings for students who are interested in playing Intramural Sports but do not have enough team members. For the Spring I season, that meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, in the Ping Center Meeting Room. The Spring II free agent meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in the Ping Center Meeting Room. 

Campus Rec will also be holding an officiating meeting for students interested in officiating five-on-five basketball, indoor volleyball or indoor soccer. That meeting will be held at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, in the Ping Center Meeting Room.

Students interested in participating in Intramural Sports are required to purchase an Intramural Sports Membership. There are three membership options:

  • Annual Membership – Students who purchased an annual member in the fall semester at eligible to play for the entire academic year; cost is $30
  • Spring Semester Membership – Entitles students to play on as many teams as they would like for the spring semester; cost is $20
  • Spring I or Spring II Membership – Entitles students to play on as many teams as they would like for the Spring I or Spring II season; cost is $15
