Meet Debbie Sellers, November Classified Employee of the Month

How surprised were you to win the Employee of the Month award?

I was extremely surprised!

What is your job title and how long have you worked it?

I am an administrative services associate in Housing and Residence Life and I’ve been at the University for 18 years.

What are the most enjoyable things about your job?

It’s definitely working with the students and my co-workers

What is your hometown and where do you live now?

Right here in little old Athens, born and raised.

What are your long-term goals?

To live on a beach.

What was the last good book you read?

Not sure. Probably a book about how to find time to read a book and raise a kid. I don’t think I finished it.

If you weren’t in your present job, you would be working as a ______.

I wouldn’t be working. I’d volunteer in a children’s hospital or maybe a school.

What things in life are the most important to you?

Life. It is important, so if you don’t take it for granted you’ll be here tomorrow.

Where is your favorite vacation destination?

Any beach or seaside pool. Very relaxing.

What are your hobbies?

Tormenting my kid to keep her from having only child syndrome - spoiled.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

That I’m quiet and like my solitude.

What are your favorite TV shows?

"Mom" and "Lt. Joe Kenda – Homicide Hunter"

What is your dream car/truck/SUV?

1955 Ford F100 truck 

What is your favorite saying or quote?

“It is what it is”
