Chubu University Professor Tadashi Shiozawa to discuss cross cultural communication

Chubu University Professor Tadashi Shiozawa will give a special presentation on Cross Cultural Communication on Friday, Nov. 18, beginning at 1 p.m. in the Multicultural Center in Baker University Center.

This year’s winner of the Tanaka-OHIO Award for Excellence in Global Engagement, Professor Shiozawa is an expert on cross cultural communication. The event is open to the public.

The chair of the Department of English Language and Culture at Chubu University, Professor Shiozawa is recognized as a prominent, dedicated, internationally-minded educator, researcher and administrator. Professor Shiozawa is a five-time recipient of the Excellent Techer Award at Chubu University and is widely published and respected for his work.

Professor Shiozawa has taught around the world and has a special connection to OHIO. He first studied at OHIO in 1979 as an international student, and then he began traveling with Chubu University students to OHIO in 1994.

In 2011, while he was on sabbatical from Chubu University, he spent much of his time working out of the Chubu University Room in OHIO’s Yamada International House.

The presentation on Friday will be of interest to faculty, staff, students and area residents, and is part of OHIO’s International Education Week celebration.
