Ecuador open forum and meet and greet to be held Oct. 31

Ohio University faculty and staff interested in developing international collaborations in the Americas, particularly in Ecuador, are encouraged to attend an upcoming special event with faculty and staff from a partner university.

On Monday, Oct. 31, OHIO will host an “Open Information Sharing Forum and Meet and Greet” with representatives of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE). OHIO faculty and staff are invited to the forum to share their own ideas about collaboration in the Americas and to learn more about PUCE’s areas of interest.

The event will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Multicultural Center Multipurpose Room on the second floor of Baker University Center.

OHIO has been working with PUCE and other partners in Ecuador since 2000. From Oct. 31-Nov. 4, a delegation from PUCE will be visiting OHIO in order to discuss new areas of collaboration. The PUCE delegation will include members from health and medical sciences, arts and sciences, communications, service learning/study away and research administration.

PUCE is a private comprehensive university of approximately 16,000 students. One goal of the university is to expand its international collaborations in the area of education, research and experiential learning.

Faculty and staff members from all OHIO colleges, centers and institutes with an interest in Ecuador and the Americas are welcome to participate. The forum is being sponsored by the Office of Global Affairs.
