What's in the CUE this week at OHIO

Summer is rolling right along and we only have two more weeks before finals begin for first summer session! Don't panic, just take a minute to breathe and enjoy what's happening at OHIO. And the University's official central Calendar of University Events is here to help - it's available 24 hours a day and remember, anyone with an active OHIO ID can add events and deadlines for all OHIO campuses.

You don't have to take my word for it. Here are a few highlights:

Kids Golf and Tennis Summer Camp (June 5-9 and 12-19, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Golf and Tennis Center): Is the next Serena Williams or Jack Nicklaus hiding out at your house? Campus Recreation is offering two week-long sessions of this camp for kids age 6 to 12 to learn and polish their basic golf and tennis skills. So if you want to instill the love of the game in your youngsters, it couldn't hurt to contact the Golf and Tenis Center.

(Wednesday, June 7, 4 to 5 p.m., Gordy Hall 311): Ohio University has students from around the globe and here's a great opportunity to learn more about another culture with a first-person encounter. The OPIE Ambassadors invite the entire University community to share your culture! Bring something that represents your country (a flag, photos, traditional clothes) or just come to learn and meet new friends.

(Sunday, June 11, 2 to 5 p.m., College Green): The three-day Athens Pride Fest will culminate with this celebration! The first-ever Pride Rally will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, followed by the 3rd Annual Athens Pride Picnic. All are invited to attend the day's events and bring a dish for the potluck picnic, but if you don't have something to bring, you're still welcome to come! All Athens Pride Fest events are sponsored by OHIO's LGBT Center, the SE Ohio LGBTQ+ Community Center and the Southeastern Ohio LGBT Coalition.

And just a couple more events you won't want to miss:

#CUEtip: Don’t forget to add the nontraditional events, such as webinars, conferences, camps, retirement receptions and workshops to the CUE. Having them on the CUE helps people who are coming from other places find where they’re going because Google mapping is enabled for the locations in the CUE system. Deadlines are also welcome and will be shared often via the @OHIO_CUE Twitter account.

Visit calendar.ohio.edu/admin/setupevents.aspx to log in with your OHIO ID and add your organization or department's events to the CUE. Feeling lost? Visit www.ohio.edu/calendar/help/ or e-mail calendar@ohio.edu for help.
