What's in the CUE this week at Ohio U.

It's hard to believe that we've reached the sixth week of summer semester/first summer session! But it is a truly historic day because Dr. M. Duane Nellis begins his tenure as the University's 21st president today! Welcome President Nellis!

In addition, Bobcat Student Orientation continues and the Summer Piano Camp is happening this week, too! The official OHIO Calendar of University Events is here to help you stay informed about what's happening on campus.

Here are a few highlights from the week ahead:

(Wednesday, June 14, 3 to 4:30 p.m., 1804 Lounge, Baker University Center fifth floor): For the past eight years, Dr. Pam Benoit has served as Ohio University's chief academic officer and has been a fixture at University events. All members of the University community are invited to stop by to bid Dr. Benoit farewell and thank her for her service to OHIO.

(Thursday, June 15, 3 to 4 p.m., Class of 1954 Lounge, Alden Library fourth floor): The Authors @Alden Summer Series begins by featuring the work of two well-known Ohio environmental and commercial photographers. Ian Adams and Randall Schieber will talk about their Ohio University Press book, “Ohio in Photographs: A Portrait of the Buckeye State,” which is filled with 288 full-color photographs. This event is free and open to the public and copies of the book will be available for purchase.

(Thursday, June 15; 7 to 8:30 p.m.; Glidden Auditorium/Recital Hall): Sean Kennard is a nationally recognized classical pianist and guest artist at this year's Ohio University Summer Piano Camp. He will perform a special recital Thursday and teach a master class on Friday at 1 p.m. - both are free and open to the public.
