OHIO Hockey’s Jacob Houston named finalist for ACHA Rookie of the Year


OHIO Hockey freshman defenseman Jacob Houston was named a finalist for the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Rookie of the Year Award. 

Houston appeared in 33 games for OHIO, tallying 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points. He was also named to the All-CSCHL Second Team and the CSCHL All-Rookie Team. 

Before his time at OHIO, Houston played for the Amarillo Bulls of the NAHL and the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders (USHL). 

Other finalists for the award include two players from Adrian College in Michael Barret and Marcus Rose. The fourth finalist is Peter Owen Hayward from Syracuse University. 

The winner of the national award will be tallied based on the votes collected from the ACHA Division I head coaches around the nation.
